The changes someone makes in their external life are simply also not the point of this transformation. We are undoubtedly not trying to create a more perfect or better life; people are generally ego goals. We are certainly learning to how to be literally free of ego.
To learn that and many other important spiritual lessons, we learn to listen to our awakened energy and sense how it directs us towards certain issues and changes that we need to make space for a radical spiritual transformation. In this way, it is truly revealed to us what we are usually transforming into.

The spiritual awakening process is generally complex, multi-layered, and different for everyone. In reality, it can not be simply fit into neat categories.
With that being simply said it is normally helpful to have a kind of “map” to locate where you’re at right now. The following stages are generally general. They define the overall flow of the spiritual awakening process:
Stage 1– Unhappiness, despondency, and feeling lost
This is really a time of confusion, disconnection, alienation, depression, and great unhappiness with life. This stage either emerges spontaneously or due to a life crisis (e.g. breakup, divorce, death, trauma, illness, major life change).
Stage 2– Shifting perspectives
In this stage, you start off seeing through the lies and delusions propagated by society. You no longer see life as you once did in your previous state of complacent unawareness.
Stage 3– Seeking answers and meaning
In this stage, you are undoubtedly asking all the deep questions. You are really in search of your life purpose, spiritual destiny, and the meaning of life itself.
Stage 4– Finding answers and experiencing breakthroughs
After a lot of soul searching, you’ll find a few teachers, practices, or belief systems that ease your existential suffering.( Beware: a lot of spiritual bypassing can occur in this stage.) You will feel a sense of expansion as old patterns dissolve and your true self (soul) begins to emerge. You might perhaps have a number of mystical experiences or brief moments of satori (enlightenment) that give you a glimpse into the ultimate nature of reality. This is without a doubt a time of joy, hope, connection, and awe.
Stage 5– Disillusionment and feeling lost again
With the spiritual awakening process, there is usually always an ebb and a flow. In this stage, you become bored and tired of your spiritual teachers or practices. You may possibly become disillusioned by the faux spiritual BS out there and crave for something deeper.
Stage 6– Deeper inner work
In this stage, you are normally not interested in dabbling in feel-good spiritual philosophies or surface practices anymore. The abiding pain you feel inside motivates you to do deep inner work. You might become a serious student of meditation, mindfulness, ritual, inside child work, shadow work, body work or various other transpersonal philosophies.
Stage 7– Integration, expansion, joy
Integration means taking the spiritual lessons you’ve learned from your internal work and applying them to your daily life. Integration happens both naturally and consciously as a habit in deep spiritual practice. You might feel ready to be usually a spiritual mentor or role model in your community and pass on your insight to others.
Note: it is usually common to move back and forth between these spiritual awakening stages. Remember that this is usually not a linear process– you can not just move from A to B to C. This is simply a complex and messy path, so it is definitely perfectly fine if it doesn’t look like what I’ve described. Your spiritual awakening process is undoubtedly unique to you. But I do hope this analysis has helped (in some way) you to ‘gain your bearings.’
What Happens to my If I Become Spiritually Awake
The true spiritual path is simply an ego peeler, and peeling away all these delusions and issues brings you closer to spiritual truth– truth such as you are normally here and now. Unlike other spiritual paths, true spirituality is normally often very mundane. It isn’t heavily decorated, and it isn’t complicated. It is generally simple, direct, and clear.
Whenever your spiritual practices or beliefs get too complicated and especially if you think they’ll keep you safe, then this is generally a good time to get out your ego peeler. Each time you drop a layer of ego, the more conscious you become about who you are definitely and what life really is usually. When we no longer seek the external world and spiritual paths to give us safety, we find that all the things we truly wanted were undoubtedly already within us.

It is generally almost like the Divine is normally showing us how inside work should go. Surrender is usually another one of our first lessons to help move past the shock of awakened energy.
With that said, surrender is certainly not passivity. When you surrender to the river, you let it pull in the direction it wants to go. As you feel how it is actually moving you, you also swim. If you don’t learn to swim, you are literally going to get smashed into a lot of stuff!
10 Negative Symptoms Of Spiritual Awakening
1. Sudden waves of emotion.
Crying at the drop of a hat. Feeling suddenly angry or sad with little provocation. Or inexplicably depressed. Very happy. Emotional roller coaster. There is generally often a pressure or sense of emotions congested in the heart chakra (the middle of the chest). Recommendations on how to deal:
Go directly to your heart chakra and feel the emotion. Just feel the feeling and let it evaporate on its own.
2. Food intolerances, allergies you never had before.
As you grow more spiritual, you are normally more sensitive to everything around you. Your body will tell you what it can no longer tolerate, as if it, too, is simply sloughing off what doesn’t serve it anymore. You might be certainly cleansing yourself of toxins. Some people find they often have a white residue in their mouth, much like that of runners at the end of a race.
My personal experience: I suddenly had severe excema on my hands and feet. I discovered it was literally due to gluten intolerance. I can also no longer enjoy a lot of acidic foods- my stomach aches after red-sauce laden meals.
Hints on how to deal:
Take yourself to a naturopath. Look at your diet for known allergens, like dairy, gluten, and nuts. Consider a restrictive diet for a few weeks, and slowly add back foods, one at a time to see if you can target what is literally causing your issues.
3. Amplification of the senses.
Sight: Blurry vision, shimmering objects, seeing glittery particles, auras around people, plants, animals, and objects. Some report seeing formerly opaque objects as transparent.

Enhanced senses of smell, touch, and/or taste: I have a friend that can smell and taste chemical additives in some foods in a rather unpleasant manner. Some mystics have reported smelling the fragrance of flowers now and then (this sounds rather enjoyable).
Useful information on how to deal:.
Surrender to it. Let it come through. Hazy vision maybe relieved by yawning.

Opinions: You will remember what is without a doubt important for you to remember. Don’t force anything. Above all, stay out of fear.
5. Events that completely alter your life:
Death, divorce, change in job status, loss of home, illness, and/or other catastrophes … often several at once! Forces that cause you to slow down, simplify, change, re-examine who you are certainly and what your life means to you. Forces that you can not ignore. Forces that cause you release your attachments. Forces that awaken your sense of love and compassion for all.
6. Introspection, solitude and loss of interest in more extroverted activities:.
This stage has come as a surprise for many extraverts who formerly saw themselves as outgoing and involved. They say, “I don’t know why, but I don’t like to go out as much as before.”.

Suggestions: There is usually nothing to worry about. Things are normally definitely happening, but anxiety only creates more problems for you.
8. Electrical and mechanical malfunctions:.
When you are usually around, lightbulbs flicker, the computer locks up, or the radio goes haywire.
Tip: Call on your angels, and guides to fix it or put up a field of protection of light around the machine. Surround your car with blue light. Laugh.
This occurs when you are literally ungrounded. Perhaps you have just cleared a big emotional issue and your body is undoubtedly adjusting to your “lighter” state.
Support: Ground yourself by eating protein. Occasionally “comfort food” feels. Don’t make any food right or wrong for you. Use your guidance to know what you need at any given moment. Take your shoes off and put your feet in the grass for a couple of minutes.
10. Memories Resurface.
Body memories, suppressed memories, images of past lives and/or parallel lives. We are certainly healing and integrating all our “selves”, so expect to have some of these experiences.
