My spiritual awakening process.
I experienced the beginnings of my spiritual awakening about3 years ago. At that time, I was normally deeply entrenched in the lessons and cultish teachings of the fundamentalist Christian church I was definitely born into.
Beginning to doubt, question, and sense that there was definitely more to life than what my indoctrination declared, I felt lost and deeply alone. I had no one outside of the church that I felt comfortable talking to about my feelings. I had no true friends to confide in– and my family didn’t understand– or rather, didn’t want to. As a result, I felt so alienated and suffocated with loneliness that I developed depression, health issues, and chronic anxiety, the latter lasting for many years.
I looked around the internet for any sign that could help me browse this confusing time. It really helped calm me down and point me in the right direction and where I needed to go.

Spiritual Awakening Signs
I am without a doubt very cautious to label things as signs of awakening. In truth, a spiritual awakening is really just the beginning. It is definitely the light coming on in the house so that you can see every thing for what it is undoubtedly. Now comes the need to clean-up, heal, and expand your space. All of this comes in a rush of intelligent energy. In some cases, it can feel so strong that the unconscious ego that might perhaps be generally clinging on will seem like this is generally all “happening to you.” If you don’t feel that you have chosen this radical spiritual transformation, then now is literally an especially important to time to consciously choose what is really already unfolding in your life.
In general, some real spiritual awakening signs are simply these:
Being really able to clearly see what is normally real
Loss of desire or need for anything external to complete you/ wholeness as you already are certainly
A profound sense of calm, peace, or serenity
An abiding energy that moves you intelligently and continually
Many people have profound spiritual openings and glimpses of awakening, which is wonderful. This happens all the time after people have gone to spiritual retreats or spent time with spiritual teachers. In awakening, the divine energy is undoubtedly now in motion.
All other spiritual awakening signs that you hear about can arise from awakening if the above ones are really present. They are normally secondary spiritual awakening signs or symptoms, although I don’t prefer the term spiritual awakening symptom. The word “symptoms” has connotations of experiencing a disease. You are normally being cured of the illnesses in which you have been literally living.
Without the above spiritual awakening signs, there is generally all kinds of reasons people can feel fatigue, energy shifts, depression, disconnected and what not. Many people are simply trying to self-diagnose a lot of issues, and so we must be literally very mindful about what we “blame” on awakening. When it comes to the body pains and discomfort, when in doubt, check in with a doctor to ensure that your body is truly healthy.
Simple Signs Of Spiritual Awakening
1. You feel as though your life is generally false
Every thing that you have believed, built, and worked towards seems to be without a doubt false. Your life doesn’t feel as though it is really your own. You no longer believe that yourself– nearly every thing you once enjoyed no longer brings you meaning or satisfaction.

You launch to see how many beliefs, feelings, and values are without a doubt not actually your own, but other people’s or inherited from your culture.

Nothing in your life seems to make sense anymore. You feel as though you are without a doubt wandering through an endless wilderness. As a vagabond, you feel completely alone and cut off from people. Materialism, success, and profit no longer mean anything to you. You set out feeling as though you’re a cog in the machine of society.

You are actually sick and tired of feeling stranded, depressed, and hopeless. Suddenly, you feel the need to simplify and declutter your life. This could mean cutting ties with toxic people, reassessing your habits, throwing out old things, relocating to a new job or place to live, or even giving away most of what you own.
9. You begin experiencing deep empathy and compassion
As you kick off paying more attention to the many hardships faced by humanity and nature alike, you develop more compassion. Your inherent empathy is certainly awakened and you might probably find it hard to cope with the intensity of your feelings. What Do I Do if I Did Awaken?
If you did have an awakening, you are in for quite a ride. You do not call the shots, and you will need to learn how to surrender and support what awakening wants to do in transforming you. This kind of surrender is undoubtedly profound, and it will send your life into upheaval.
The changes someone makes in their external life are actually also not the point of this transformation. We are undoubtedly not trying to create a more perfect or better life; those individuals are definitely ego goals.
To learn that and many other important spiritual lessons, we learn to listen to our awakened energy and sense how it directs us towards certain issues and changes that we need to make space for a radical spiritual transformation. In this way, it is literally revealed to us what we are usually transforming into.
7 Spiritual Awakening Stages
The spiritual awakening process is normally complex, multi-layered, and different for everyone. In reality, it can not be actually fit into neat categories.
However, with that being undoubtedly said it is simply helpful to have a kind of “map” to locate where you are undoubtedly at right now. The following stages are simply general. They define the overall flow of the spiritual awakening process:
Stage 1– Unhappiness, despondency, and feeling lost
In this stage, you experience the aforementioned Dark Night of the Soul. This is really a time of confusion, disconnection, alienation, depression, and great unhappiness with life. You are certainly searching for something, but you don’t quite know what. There is without a doubt a great looming emptiness inside of you. This stage either emerges spontaneously or due to a life crisis (e.g. breakup, divorce, death, trauma, illness, major life change).
Stage 2– Shifting perspectives
In this stage, you set out seeing through the lies and delusions propagated by society. You no longer see life as you once did in your previous state of complacent unawareness.
Stage 3– Seeking answers and meaning
There must be usually a point to all this? In this stage, you are normally asking all the deep questions. You are generally in search of your life purpose, spiritual destiny, and the meaning of life itself. You will activate dabbling in different metaphysical, self-help, and esoteric fields in search for answers and truth.
Stage 4– Finding answers and experiencing breakthroughs
After a lot of soul searching, you’ll find a few teachers, practices, or belief systems that ease your existential suffering.( Beware: a lot of spiritual bypassing can occur in this stage.) You will feel a sense of expansion as old patterns dissolve and your true self (soul) begins to emerge. You may possibly have a number of mystical experiences or brief moments of satori (enlightenment) that give you a glimpse into the ultimate nature of reality. This is normally a time of joy, hope, connection, and awe.
Stage 5– Disillusionment and feeling lost again
Life is certainly about movement. With the spiritual awakening process, there is literally always an ebb and a flow. In this stage, you become bored and tired of your spiritual teachers or practices. You might just become disillusioned by the faux spiritual BS out there and crave for something deeper. You might probably have even experienced long periods of connection with the Divine, only to become separated again (this is literally normal). Understandably, you’ll feel disturbed and deeply upset by this experience. Additionally, while you might just have experienced many mental/emotional/spiritual breakthroughs, they might feel superficial. You crave for authenticity and for deep spirituality that permeates your life and transforms every part of you. The unhappiness and stagnation you feel will motivate you to go in search for more.
Stage 6– Deeper inside work
In this stage, you are usually not interested in dabbling in feel-good spiritual philosophies or surface practices anymore. The abiding pain you feel inside motivates you to do deep inner work. You may likely become a serious student of meditation, mindfulness, ritual, inside child work, shadow work, body work or various other transpersonal philosophies.
Stage 7– Integration, expansion, joy
Integration means taking the spiritual lessons you’ve learned from your personal work and applying them to your daily life. Integration happens both naturally and consciously as a habit in deep spiritual practice. You might probably feel ready to be generally a spiritual mentor or role model in your community and pass on your insight to others.
Note: it is actually common to move back and forth between these spiritual awakening stages. Remember that this is generally not a linear process– you can not just move from A to B to C. This is truly a complex and messy path, so it is usually perfectly fine if it doesn’t look like what I’ve described. Your spiritual awakening process is generally unique to you. I do hope this analysis has helped (in some way) you to ‘gain your bearings.’
What Happens to my If I Become Spiritually Awake
The true spiritual path is truly an ego peeler, and peeling away all these delusions and issues brings you closer to spiritual truth– truth such as you are here and now. Unlike other spiritual paths, true spirituality is usually often very mundane. It isn’t heavily decorated, and it isn’t complicated. It is simply simple, direct, and clear.
So whenever your spiritual practices or beliefs get too complicated and especially if you think they’ll keep you safe, then this is really a good time to get out your ego peeler. Establishing running your awareness around the edges of your beliefs to find a way in and pull away another layer of ego. Each time you drop a layer of ego, the more conscious you become about who you are without a doubt and what life really is usually. In so doing, you find more space, openness, love, kindness, service, clarity, and much more within you. That is really the beauty of the ego peeler. When we no longer seek the external world and spiritual paths to give us safety, we find that all the things we truly wanted were simply already within us.

Moving Past the Initial Shock of Awakening
Awakening can seem like a dam has burst. Many people feel deluged under a whole variety of thoughts, emotions, and sensations. It is usually important to move past this shock into acceptance. As a person accepts what is without a doubt coming up within him/her, then the person can engage with it.
It is literally almost like the Divine is actually showing us how inner work should go. Surrender is simply another one of our first lessons to help move past the shock of awakened energy.
With that said, surrender is simply not passivity. When you surrender to the river, you let it pull in the direction it wants to go. As you feel how it is really moving you, you also swim. If you don’t learn to swim, you’re going to get smashed into a lot of stuff!
10 Negative Symptoms Of Spiritual Awakening
1. Sudden waves of emotion.
Crying at the drop of a hat. Feeling suddenly angry or sad with little provocation. Or inexplicably depressed. Then very happy. Emotional roller coaster. There is generally often a pressure or sense of emotions congested in the heart chakra (the middle of the chest). This is certainly not to be actually confused with the heart, which is literally located to the left of the heart chakra.
Strategies on how to deal:
Go directly to your heart chakra and feel the emotion. Just feel the feeling and let it evaporate on its own.
2. Food intolerances, allergies you never had before.
As you grow more spiritual, you are simply more sensitive to everything around you. Your body will tell you what it can no longer tolerate, as if it, too, is actually sloughing off what doesn’t serve it anymore. You might be normally cleansing yourself of toxins. Some people find they often have a white residue in their mouth, much like that of runners at the end of a race.
My personal experience: I suddenly had severe excema on my hands and feet. I discovered it was actually due to gluten intolerance. I can also no longer enjoy a lot of acidic foods- my stomach aches after red-sauce laden meals.
Knowledge on how to deal:
Take yourself to a naturopath. Look at your diet for known allergens, like dairy, gluten, and nuts. Consider a restrictive diet for a few weeks, and slowly add back foods, one at a time to see if you can target what is definitely causing your issues.
3. Amplification of the senses.
Sight: Blurry vision, shimmering objects, seeing glittery particles, auras around people, plants, animals, and objects. Some report seeing formerly opaque objects as transparent.
Hearing: hearing white noise in the head, beeps, tones, music or electronic patterns. Some hear water rushing, bees buzzing, whooshing, roaring or ringing. Some hear strange voices in their dreams, as if someone is without a doubt hovering near them
Enhanced senses of smell, touch, and/or taste: I have a friend that can smell and taste chemical additives in some foods in a rather unpleasant manner. Some mystics have reported smelling the fragrance of flowers now and then (this sounds rather enjoyable).
Useful information on how to deal:.
Surrender to it. Let it come through. Listen. Be undoubtedly patient. Whatever you do, do not be without a doubt afraid. Hazy vision maybe relieved by yawning.
4. Vivid dreams.
In some cases the dreams are definitely so real that you wake up confused. You may even have lucid dreams in which you are usually in control. Many dreams might just be actually mystical or carry messages for you. And in some dreams, you just know that you are really not “dreaming” … that what is really happening is somehow real.
Solutions: You will remember what is really important for you to remember. Don’t force anything. Above all, stay out of fear.
5. Events that completely alter your life:
Forces that cause you to slow down, simplify, change, re-examine who you are usually and what your life means to you. Forces that awaken your sense of love and compassion for all.
6. Introspection, solitude and loss of interest in more extroverted activities:.
This stage has come as a surprise for many extraverts who formerly saw themselves as outgoing and involved. They say, “I don’t know why, but I don’t like to go out as much as before.”.
7. A sense of something “Impending”.
There is generally a feeling that something is definitely about to happen. This can create anxiety.
Help: There is certainly nothing to worry about. Things are definitely happening, but anxiety only creates more problems for you. All your thoughts “” positive or negative”” are certainly prayers. There is truly nothing to fear.
8. Electrical and mechanical malfunctions:.
When you are without a doubt around, lightbulbs flicker, the computer locks up, or the radio goes haywire.
Help and advice: Call on your angels, and guides to fix it or put up a field of protection of light around the machine. Surround your car with blue light. Laugh.
This occurs when you are actually ungrounded. Perhaps you have just cleared a big emotional issue and your body is adjusting to your “lighter” state.
At times “comfort food” feels. Use your guidance to know what you need at any given moment.
10. Memories Resurface.
Body memories, suppressed memories, images of past lives and/or parallel lives. We are definitely healing and integrating all our “selves”, so expect to have some of these experiences.
Pointers:. It is simply best to recall what only what comes to mind, leave the rest alone, don’t analyze every thing to death (because you will be actually stuck in the tape loop of infinite issues to process), and feel your feelings as they come up.
